FAQs

Donating is a great way to contribute to your local shelter! At Samaritan house we keep a list of current items we are “in need” of. If you want to donate specific items feels free to call the shelter and ask for our list. Otherwise, we will accept used clothing, shoes, and furniture that are in good useable condition. We will not accept clothing that is heavily stained, ripped, or soiled broken furniture. We welcome hygienic supplies that is new and unopened: toothpaste, toothbrushes, wipes, deodorant, brushes, etc. We also accept unopened food donations that are not expired. We will occasionally decline donations if we find our supply full or the items being donated are not in good working condition. We accept donations seven days a week 8am to 5pm. We do provide donation receipts upon request.

Thank you for being interested in volunteering for Samaritan House! To get started please reach out to our office to find out how we could use your help and what you would be interested in contributing to the shelter. We are happy to have community members join in on projects, shelter support, or even serve meals! Our Office Manager can help direct you and coordinate your volunteer efforts.

We are happy to help just give us a call! Our bed availability changes daily to hourly. We accept new clients 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm. We cannot hold a bed in advance for potential clients so please know that we can only guarantee a place to stay once you are in the facility and starting the intake process. We do have limitations on types of criminal charges we allow in the shelter, if you have concerns please call-in advance to see if you are eligible for intake.

We have case managers who work with each of our clients to help support them in no longer being homeless. Our case managers meet with clients to set up financial plans, job searches, housing searches, and health/medical resources. ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. We have the ability to house families in our shelter in separate family units. We need documentation supporting parenthood or guardianship of the minors in your family. This includes the birth certificates, social security cards, and guardianship papers (if applicable) to the minors in your presence. We do not allow minors to be unsupervised at any time while staying at Samaritan House. All minors must be accompanied by a guardian or parent while on property. At this time, we do not accept minors without guardians or parents present as shelter clients. There are other programs in the valley that are able to support you and we are happy to reach out to them and get you set up!

Samaritan House host our annual Cowboy Up Auction every year in the efforts to raise money for the shelter. We are also a part of numerous fundraising activities in the county that help donate proceeds to the non-profits of our Flathead Valley. If you’re interested in monetarily donating to the shelter please give our office a call! We also have a PayPal account that is linked to our website. We can provide receipts upon request and annual receipts for taxes at the end of the year.
